Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most-populous continent. The continent became completely independent by 1994. Many democratic nations were supporting the newly independent countries to establish control and stability to plan further growth. Japan played a significant role in the development and growth of Africa since the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Japan and South Africa 1992. Japan became the leading provider of developmental aid and advocated the African development through the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) to accelerating Africa’s growth and reducing poverty and vulnerability. Japan is currently South Africa’s third-largest trading partner with two-way trade of nearly R90-billion recorded in 2011.
